"This is everything you'd expect from a swamp monster -- noisy, nasty, hellish sounds that will try to rip off your skin when you sleep." - Gear Wire
"Heavy is the just the right word to describe Monster Factory amps. The Swamp Thang, Monster Factory's current flagship, is a beast of an amplifier." - Harmony Central
This little fishie dragged itself out of a voodoo swamp with enough gain, bottom end, and presence to make the Creature from the Black Lagoon blush. If you're into the Uber-gain thing and need a clean channel that actually sounds compatible with the nasty channel, this is the one for you. Heavy, Heavy, Heavy, with Heavy to spare! Be sure to warn your bandmates before you show up at practice with this fire-breather. Here's the particulars:
Two channels - Clean and Overdrive - both front panel and silent footswitch selectable (included).
High gain preamp with five beefy gain stages and a unity buffer - all powered by three mighty 12AX7/ECC83 dual triodes.
Three-band equalization for the Overdrive Channel and two-band, scooped mid equalization for the Clean Channel.
Clean Channel also has a Saturation Control that lets you dial in mild overdrive at any volume. Nice contrast to the actual Overdrive Channel and one of the features that help make this our most versatile offering yet! It has a strong "green box" sound.
Active effects loop driven by a 12AT7 dual triode featuring independent level controls for send and return, as well as a series/parallel switch and a pedal/rack switch.
Speaker emulated line out for sound reinforcement and/or recording specially matched to replicate the Swamp Thang cab.
Power amp with 4x6L6GC tubes delivering 120 watts to any 4, 8, 16, or 20 ohm load. This amp ONLY works with beam power pentodes, such as 6L6, 5881, 6550, and some KT series. The plate voltage is too high for 6V6 and it's not internally wired to accept EL34.
Matching 4x12, 8ohm, 600W cab with removable casters and loaded with Eminence Swamp Thang speakers - what else?
DIMENSIONS: Head = 26-1/4"W x 11-1/2"H x 10"D, Cab = 30-1/4"W x 35-1/4"H (w/casters) x 14-1/2"D
